Digital Disruption is the new buzz in the IT Industry, which has rightly categorized this opportunity as Technological Boom. The goal for an Enterprise today is to connect the power of digital to elevate the customer experience and drive end-to-end business opportunities.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is one of the top preference for the Enterprise to élite towards digitalization. The number of new inventions and progressive ideas has grown exponentially, all aimed to simplify work, optimize processing timeframes, and increase business productivity. Robotic process automation is one of the latest smart services to take on human functions.

Enterprises are now approaching opportunities with a clear understanding on what RPA can do for them with the combination of advanced technology use. Enterprises with their Digital Key initiatives keeping RPA as of one of their top most pick as RPA comes with many advantages and ROI period typically kick-starts in early stage from six months. Enterprises are embracing robotic process automation to automate rules-based, repetitive tasks in a cost-efficient manner.

Thinking Digital Transformation with RPA, Enterprises have pen down there Key Market Drivers:

What is Robotic Process Automation (RPA)?

By this time, you must have gained the fair idea of what RPA is. However, RPA is a Robotic Process Automation, which is the use of Software Robots, AI or any other form of Automations that were previously performed by human beings. Primary objective for a RPA is to replace repetitive tasks performed by Human beings through a Digital Workforce (called BOTS). RPA primarily target processes, which are highly manual, repetitive, rule-based and have a structured Input and expected Output.

So Today one of the target industry for RPA Tools is Service Industry where Business Processes are enormous. Currently most of the outsourced Business Processes, which are currently being outsourced and performed manually through hands, are where the RPA is a best fit to automate such processes which are more repetitive in nature, high volumetric, structured input and output.

Figure 2: RPA Qualifiers

Type of BOTS:

Typically, RPA has two type of Software BOTS, Attended and Unattended

Attended BOTS: are BOTS that are assisted by Human operators. They triggered manually and locally on user system.

Unattended BOTS: are BOTS that do not need any human intervention. They triggered automatically from the hosted server at a schedule event.

Figure 3: Attended Vs Unattended BOTs

Architecture Benefits:

RPA does not alter the existing IT Architecture. IT advantages organization to rapidly adopt Digital initiative as a part of corporate strategy for an efficient RPA implementation, which can quickly start delivering the ROI in near term starting from six Months without any additional expenditures on IT Architecture. RPA can also be used incrementally and can be installed on individual users’ computers, enabling specific employees to run processes to increase efficiency. In such instances, RPA can easily be disabled if necessary. However, it is equally important to have a right RPA Architecture in place as ROI depends with the right Architecture.

Do not Fear from ROBOTS, they are Opportunity Creators!

With the Digital Disruption where Enterprises are embracing robotic process automation (RPA) strategy, most of the Human workforce are in fear of losing their JOBS. However, this is just a myth.

RPA is an opportunity inventor for all those who are involved into daily, weekly repeated task executioners who are only responsible to execute the same task in same sequence with structured data. Now RPA enables them to do some more productive, innovative tasks. Now the way Technology is buzzing these days, with RPA your job will not cease to exist, rather it will bring down the further opportunities for you to be redistributed to solve the cases, which RPA failed to do. RPA will bring more motivational factors in existing workforce and for the enterprises as well to have better productivity from their employees. Opportunity to upgrade your skills to get involved into more productivity and decision-making tasks rather than same repetitive executions.

Yes, it is possible where RPA might eliminate some jobs, but it’s much more likely RPA will result in a restructuring of the global workforce in which new opportunities for careers are presented. Future of Work is changing drastically. We need to disrupt ourselves, unlearn and re-learn before others disrupt us.
